Eccentric
This morning, one of my students was complaining that another one of her professors is pretty strange. Actually, he is. But being a professional, I just told her that a lot of academics are eccentric. Her response? "No, professor. You're eccentric. He's crazy." I've decided to take it as a compliment.

I would definitely take that as a compliment. I had a student once tell me that at the beginning of the semester he thought I was crazy! Later he said that I was cool and a bit eccentric. OY, freshmen!

I wish people would call me "professor." Hahahaha!
I'm glad you agree that it's good to be eccentric! :-) And Mim, at least if they think you're crazy, they also probably think you're interesting, and they'll probably pay attention!
