Vested

Today I finished the vest for afghans for Afghans. I used a variety of yarns from my stash--some green and black New Zealand wool, some pink and orange Lorna's Laces Bullfrogs and Butterflies, some black cherry Kool-Aid dyed, and some Peruvian hand-dyed purple. I like the sort of stained glass effect of the front. Here's Thing 1 modeling the front and Thing 2 modeling the back.

I should note that this vest was completed amid some personal suffering. The entire vest and armholes have 2 rounds of crochet edging, and I'm not a crochet fan. And, what I was telling myself was simply allergies or the effects of the smoke in the air (there's another fire to the west, adding more blech to the valley air), is now, undeniably, a cold.

I love your GW countdown. (shhh, don't tell my Republican friends and parents). I'm so "over" him.

The vest came out great. Hope you're feeling better soon!

The vest is enchanting! But not nearly so as the lovely smile-for-the-camera Thing One has developed.

Did you work from a pattern or make up the vest as you went along? Send these things for me to crochet the edging. I love the ACT of crocheting - I just don't like crocheted things as well as knit, with the exception of lace.

Hi Phyllis!

The vest looks great - sorry to hear about the crocheting, but at least it's done now!

And so sorry to hear of your cold. I hate colds!! Try lots of vitamin C and actual, homemade chicken soup - that helps me. I hate having to make it when I'm already feeling bad, but force-feeding it to myself has gotten me over colds in as little as 2 days. I no longer doubt the idea :-))

Robin, I agree with you - and I do consider myself (on most issues) a Republican. But I, too, am totally over "W".
