A big favor!

I have a big request of you. Thing 1 has begun a collection of snow globes. See? It's a fun little thing to collect, plus she's learning some geography out of it.

Her birthday is coming up in a month, and I thought it'd be fun to surprise her with some additions to her collection.

Soooo...if you happen to live near anyplace touristy that might have snow globes, could you send us one? I will reimburse your expenses or send you back some treats from Northern California--your choice. If you can manage this, please email me at dephalqu[at]yahoo.com, or leave me a comment with your email address, and I'll send you my snail address. Thank you!!

Oh, this will be fun! Could probably send her a snow globe with ACTUAL snow, but...

Yes, you would have plenty of the real thing, Peg! Well, you could just send a regular globe and say that the snow melted.

I'll look and see if I can find any from Houston for her. I'm sure we do, somewhere since they are pretty popular items! :)

One from Houston would be great, Susan! Do they have them at the zoo? Thing 1 has one from the San Diego Zoo, but then that's such a huge zoo that I'm sure they can have lots of souvenirs custom-made.

And if globes from Alaska have real snow, what should globes from texas contain? Oil?

How about from Boston?

I think they need to come with oil! :) I found one at the zoo with a cute tiger in it! I'll get it in the mail to you asap!

I still have a VERY special snowglobe from our first trip to New York (about 20 years ago). I even vaguely remember buying it at the United Nations gift shop (I was only 9 years old)! I'd probably be willing to part with it so that my beloved niece could cherish it...

I am SURE I can find a tacky snowglobe in Ottawa somewhere, and it's on my to-do list!! A nice moose/Mountie/beaver snowglobe, yes, that's the ticket!!

Oh, and what does Thing TWO collect?

I'm not sure if her birthday has actually passed or not yet but I would be willing to send you one from Australia if you'd like. Email me at nattychick[at]gmail[dot]com
